We'll be driving in on the M4 in time (hopefully) to secure a good place in the queue - one option is to park at the NCP Hammersmith and get the tube to Shepherds Bush Market. Do any London Frenz (or QPR fans) have any local knowledge about parking nearer to the venue? Is it residents' permits only, in the side streets? Any tips very welcome.

Thanks!

I'm not a driver (as I live in London) but there is a relatively new huge Westfield at Shepherd's Bush where my friends have previously parked their cars for gigs at Bush Hall and the Empire.

The details are here:

Hope that assists.

We've been to Bush Hall and the Empire a few times (last year to see Liam Finn) and parking is really easy in the side streets....well as easy as London ever gets. I think it's metered til 5 or maybe 6pm. We've had to circle a few times in the car but usually get a space within easy walking distance.

Anyone arriving early for a pre-gig drink? ;-)

I would 100% recommend you do this, Vicarious. The Westfield carpark is really secure, cheaper than the NCP and less likely you'll come back to a smashed window or dented side/missing wing mirror than the side streets. Though it does mean you'll have a bit of trek to/from Bush Hall.

When you get to the carpark, if you park at the Next end of the centre you'll be at the right end to walk to/from Bush Hall.

Edited to add - just re-read your original message, if you're going there during the day you'll get hit by permit only and pay and display machines on the side streets, they're really pricy and have a maximum stay limit (2 hours iirc). Westfield's the best option, you can leave your car there till 1am.

Thanks for all the advice. Sara, you paint such an attractive picture of the Shepherds Bush area! We'll head for Westfield. Not sure about a pre-gig drink - love to, but also depends on the journey time, and how long the queue is when we get there.
