Fantastic reviews people! There are some awesome clips which capture the feeling of the night and it was indeed a special treat for the frenz.
Beautiful harmonies from the crowd, as always Big Grin

Forgot to add. As he left the stage at the end, Neil thanked the audience for all their support and said something like "you really are very precious to us" Smiler

Thanks Finner79.

- what was the guy doing on stage during the first part of 'Last to Know', other than looking at Neil's laptop?

Bart, didn't Neil make some joke about the guy being someone who'd randomly wandered on stage to check his emails? Big Grin

I'm such an idiot...I assumed the show would start at 9 & finish at 11, so, er, didn't rush to get there at all & arrived at 8.45 to find Neil already on stage. Mad Can anyone tell me what I missed? I came in just before 'Message To My Girl.'

Wonderful gig, by the way. Not sure why there wasn't an encore, but not complaining.

I got there not long before you then Minty. Had childcare issues and then got lost near Fulham..! On the plus side, I didn't get my car towed away at a cost of over £500 which is what happened last time I parked near Shepherds Bush Empire Mad

Much more hospitable parking near Bush Hall Smiler

Only Talking Sense
Amsterdam
Into Temptation

Thanks Finner79! Really, really wish I'd got there earlier now, if only to hear 'Only Talking Sense' - I love that song.

There was a venue curfew at 10.30 and Neil left the stage around about 10.20 I think - hence no encore...

ah just got homefrom london after my god knows how many hours trip and my housemate told me that whenever i see neil finn (no matter in what format) i always say the same thing: that was the best concert i have never been too. neil is my God.

One thing I would like to add to the thread is how appreciative Neil was of the audience and fans - i lost count how many time he thanked us, and it was genuine thanks and appreciation. it almost bought a tear to my eye.

I'm gonna say it again - that was the bestest Neil experience of my life - happy happy happy.

I felt really privileged to be there last night. I thought the new songs sounded amazing. Other personal highlights:

The ‘off the beaten track’ nature of the set list

The following, all on piano: Walking On The Spot, Last Day Of June, Faster Than Light, Wherever You Are, Throw Your Arms Around Me

Beautiful, clear sound. Crystal clear and warm

More spontaneity here than in any other gig I’ve been to

Probably more intimacy too

I still can’t get over the fact it was just him, a piano and a guitar. What a treat Big Grin

I'd love to see just Neil and a guitar and a piano. A gig so spontaneous would be the ultimate for me.

Thanks for all the youtube goodies. They've been a treat to watch!

From what I've seen, this is very similar to the Largo show in LA for which I would gladly donate a quart of my O- blood to own a DVD of! These youtube clips will have to suffice and they are splendid. Especially glad to hear Twice If You're Lucky back closer to it's roots. I'm up to my ears in 'Elephants' right now. Those who abstain...you shouldn't! It's right there. Neil, a guitar and a piano! Half-Full's dream.
