I listened to the 30 second clip of Guiding Star. I had goosebumps from the first note. Can't wait for my CD to come!

Finally got to hear Neil's song for the Buttery Project on Australian Story last night. Another songwriting triumph. That phrase is now such a cliche for Neil now that it's almost insulting one's intelligence to write it down again.

The CD itself looks interesting and hope it does well. Certainly Neil fans will get or download it for his song but the other tracks could very well be worth a listen as well.

Aaaargh it wont play all the way through for me. It plays in choppy bits until it eventually stops completely. I haven't given up yet though!

My copy of Caution: Life Ahead just arrived.

Have Guiding Star on repeat

It is the most haunting, beautiful, apt song I have ever heard. Just Neil on piano with his own falsetto backing vocal.

Lyrics (included in the CD insert):

"This adventure has left me reeling
There's no expression with what I'm feeling
See a lantern in the distance
Lights the pathway with least resistance
In you I have faith
Lets make our escape

Somewhere there's a guiding star
Somewhere there's a safe retreat
Close your eyes and there you are
Somewhere there is sanctuary
We can find some peace

There's a calmness now descending
And I surrender to whatever comes
It's gonna work out but not how we planned it
Don't try to understand it
Just remeber that it's true
In you I have faith
We'll make our escape

Somewhere there's a guiding star
Somewhere there's a safe retreat
Close your eyes and there you are
Somewhere there is sanctuary
We can find some peace

Somewhere there's a guiding star
You can breathe a sigh of relief
Somewhere there is sanctuary
We can find some peace

repeat
Somewhere there is sanctuary
We can find some peace"

Does anyone know when this CD will be available, and if you live overseas (such as myself) how you can purchase a copy?

hi Jim, the CD (Caution: Life Ahead) is available now, try this online store

they do deliver o/s, once you've clicked "add to cart" you can change the delivery options (on the right of the page) to "rest of the world" and you'll then be able to work out cost.

Good luck - it's worth it just for Guiding Star Smiler

Am I the only one to be underwhelmed by Guiding Star? It just seems like a run of the mill plodding ballad. Don't wish to sound harsh but this hasn't grabbed me at all.

Thank goodness, Paul -- I thought I was the only one who didn't like it! To my jaundiced ears, it sounds like Serge (Late in Rome), rewritten and re-recorded for an album of born-again Christian "inspirational" tunes. Sorry.

OK, now let the brickbats fly my way!

I could see that - late in Rome, persecutions, lions, martyrs. It could work! A bit racy for the genre though. Still, isn't it time Neil cracked the Christian Rock market?

Argh! I really wish I could listen to this track without spending $30 to import the 2-disc album!

Thankfully, I was able to download the cover of "Women" -- loving that one!

I have accidentally ordered two copies of this album (had it sitting in my Amazon cart out of stock so long that I went to the Buttery site and ordered it ... forgot to remove it from my Amazon cart, and when it came back in stock I jumped on the opportunity, forgetting my direct order).

Anybody open to any trades or looking for a copy in the US please respond direct!!
