Thanks for the link FG. Smiler
It's a pleasure to see the man himself talking about the new album.Did you see the twinkle in his eyes? Looks like things are going well. Big Grin

Strange interview in some ways. The new album is months off, and the only hint at its content was that one brief glimpse at a lyric sheet. No mention of the other upcoming release--7WC--and almost as much about Split Enz as about Crowded House. Always good to see Neil, though. But for G-d's sake, get a haircut!

I thought it was a good little interview. Nothing Earth shattering....neil did say that there would be some twists and turns on the new CD and that there are some catchy song. he did sound enthused about it....so I am slightly more pumped about the new CD. I think he should do more of these as the weeks go by and give slight hints here and there to keep us guessing and into it.

I can only assume that the hair has Samsonite qualities linked to strength of songwriting/production and will get a mow when the album's safely 'in the can'.

On the third listen, I think this is because of crappy, one-eyed editing.
Dick Wilkins Wink says, "You've got so many projects on the go..." early on. Without saying what they are! Hmph! I am totally sure that they discussed 7WCII but that it didn't make the cut. Perhaps Neil thought he was doing some promo for the project (and thus some fund-raising for Oxfam), but it didn't work out that way?

I hate that moment when the guys take off their guitars and Matt throws the sticks into the crowd and there is no more...for tonight anyway.

Heh. You're right, Beajai, and I didn't even think twice about that comment, because I already know what all the projects are! *laughs* But you're right, to those who don't keep up with details about Neil's doings the way a lot of us do, that comment would have left them all hanging!

Thank you for posting the link, Finngirl. Smiler

Oh, and because everyone else is mentioning their opinion of it, I for one love the hair. Wink

Neil also mentioned that if he had his time over again, there are a few things he wouldn't have said. I hope that he wasn't talking about things he said by way of songs. They need no editing. Smiler (Except perhaps anything that mentions trees Big Grin Roll Eyes).

Incidentally, I'd be standing with the side holding the scissors. Big Grin

It's good to see Richard keeping up with Neil. I'm convinced he's a massive fan since he's always made time to interview Neil whenever something new is on the horizon. However, as much as I appreciate his passion for the Finns, I have to say that as each interview goes by the more and more similar they become.

Without fail, we can expect Richard to cover the following:

1) The fact that Neil started out with Tim in Split Enz

2) The Brother's are actually from New Zealand

3) Questions regarding what it was like to go from second fiddle to lead singer and song writer

4) Why he broke Crowded House up

5) Constantly pamper him with the fact that he's brilliant

Given the similarity of the interviews, i'm surprised Richard didn't draw this question from his usual bag of tricks: "Is there any chance of Crowded House getting back together?"

Richard might be a dag and a tad repetitive, but it's nice to see him given them the attention where so much of main stream radio doesn't Smiler
