Ok, I could have just stuck this in the Happy Birthday Neil thread, but it may have gone largely unnoticed.

I've had this feeling since waking up this morning that I want to do something for Neil's birthday. Some kind of a gift, but of course what do you give a man who has all he wants (is that simple enough)?

Then it occurred to me.....let's all do something that makes a difference. We are SO close to building a classroom!!

What a nice idea. Thank you to those who have donated to this, the great news is that we are now past the 97% mark! I figure it will hit the total over the next few weeks time, then again with Half Full's encouragement that could be sooner!

Do you have to use Paypal to donate? Because I don't have a paypal account anymore.

I checked the total. It says only $52 needed as of June 4th. I will gladly contribute towards that total but I cannot use Pay Pal to do it!

I actually mailed cash. I know it's a no-no, but I haven't had any problems with it disappearing. Not putting "Charitable Fundraiser" on the envelope probably helped. I emailed Peter to let him know the money was coming, so he could add it to the total.

I think the original idea was to get every Frenz to mail in $1 to hit $10K. It's more fun than PayPal for sure.

As we've mention the total has been reached, which is truly brilliant. The classroom will be built in Cambodia (near Yemen).

Basically it will be at one of the four rural villages in the Abyan area of Southern Yemen.(Roughly 3 hours from tarmac and dirt road... east of the port of Aden).

Two local women become the literacy trainers which is great, and the classes will benefit young woman (about 75% in that area still can not read or write, so for the first time in their lives they will have a chance). It's a standard type classroom with tables, chairs, black board etc.

Anyway just letting people know that it's all paid up and will get underway in the next few months. This is a really really great thing so thank you for making it happen, you've given some young woman an amazing gift.
