Not seen this mentioned here already -Neil Finn inks deal with Universal

Anyone know what Universal are like in terms of marketing etc?

This was discussed ten days ago or so in a thread in the Crowded House forum. The Universal deal relates to publishing the songs only; it doesn't relate to any of Neil's recordings--with Split Enz, Crowded House, or solo--except to the extent that those recordings generate publishing royalties for Neil in his role as songwriter. Sara did a great job of explaining what the deal does and does not cover, here and elsewhere in the thread.

For the most part, the deal only affects where Neil's songwriter royalty checks get sent (except in North America, Australia, and New Zealand).
