@lamb: Usually it takes me ages to work it out myself every time I try. Thought it's just my computer being slow. Which browser do you use? I can only access the clips by using the Internet Explorer. Then the clips will usually load, but after about 30 seconds into the clip it stops. Try clicking on the forward button then. The same clip starts again and seems to work porperly. Hope this helps.

For anyone missing any of the other clips, most of them are up on You Tube, though I couldn't agree more how great it would be to have good copies of them all. If only it could be possible. I've never seen Persuasion, nor any of the Coca Cola/Les Patterson clips ... at least since they were originally out. Strange night is indeed from a scene in the Coca Cola Kid, though being the pedantic type I am I'd call it more a party than a bar scene.

@Fandorina
I have Internet Explorer, but I can't get access to the clips, in fact, now I can't even reach the point where it is "loading". Frowner
Do you need to login or register at the site?

You don't have to login or register with either site.

All you seem to need there is Windows Media Player. Perhaps an upgrade to a newer version is required? I don't use Flash Player with the Internet Explorer, but I don't know which other plug-ins go with my old version of IE.

@Kelly: Love this live version of I See Red. It's on the "7 Worlds Collide" DVD alongside other favourites of mine.

VERY Australian sound! Don't think I'd want to watch the rest of the film though, not that interested in Greta.

Yes, it just goes ballistic when he comes on - Eddie Vedder looks like he's just holding his breath for the explosion!! It's amazing

Thanks! These links worked. Only instead of "play it" I had to click "video code" Confused.

Anyway, I finally got to see them. First thing that strikes me, is that even if there were no sound, you could tell right away from which album they are. And I'm not saying they're "dated", but you can even see in which decade they are made, judging by the clothes Tim wears.

Hey don't knock the hair man, it's gorgeous!!!

And I don't think it was a matter of Tim being picky with record companies. For one I don't think Capitol wanted him any more after the eponymous album didn't do so well, and his independent spell was his desire not to be held to the pressures of working with a big label. As for the others, well ... Mushroom was obvious enough with Escapade and I'm sure they were happy enough with that. I guess Virgin was more accessible for Big Canoe since he was living in England at the time.

Yeah, I own the Coca Cola Kid but would be just as happy never to watch it again. Some people grimace at how 80s some of Tim's music and clips are, so I'd definitely not recommend such a piece of 80s cheese to them for their viewing pleasure. I think in the end they all thought it pretty awful.

Love Made My Day. Actually I was listening to the radio today - Jonathon Coleman - and he played a bit of an old interview with Tim about Made My Day before playing the song. Tim was talking about religion and such and the gospel singing in America and how he liked that and put a bit of it in Made My Day.

Has this really been used as the video clip for In a Minor Key as the comment seems to suggest? Great performance, one of my favourite songs and - I love Youtube! Cool

Me too, I LOVE YouTube. Before I discovered YouTube, the only Tim-solo video clip I had ever seen was Fraction Too Much Friction.

About the In A Minor Key clip.
Was this the show Mike Chunn mentioned in his Stranger Than Fiction book? Where the sound broke down and it was obvious for those who didn't already knew that the music was on tape and only Tim's singing was really live? Where Tim started telling jokes to the audience during the time they needed to fix the sound?

If so, was this shown on TV, or did the TV audience at home only see the "good" version?
