I never thought this would ever come up anywhere but a friend went to Europe and to cut a long story short he bought me a T-Shirt which says on the front
"Numpty (num-p-tee) Dialect, chiefly Scot. 1. a bumbling fool; one who is intllectually challenged ("no' the fu' shillin'") 2. Widely known in Scotland as an MSP (Member of Scottish Parliament) [as in "Thae numpties couldnae organise a piss up in a brewery."]"
Dunno if it's right but it's funny

Edited because I in my numptiness forgot to post an answer to the question

Nah, MagBolt, Eddie's not a numpty.

Eddie's a good bloke, and he'd probably be the best man for the job, should he be "forgiving" enough to undertake it. Razzer

Put it this way, I'd trust him if it was my music.

...Fizzy.

My vote would be put towards a remaster, but not a remix.

Although I did love some of the remixes of the Enz songs, as someone has already said, Tim's songs on Escapade, as they are, are fabulous (eh Kazzie? Wink).

What about a Symphonic Escapade Project. I'm sure Ed would (Ed Wood, he he, sorry) be into that. Minor Key would sound great with an Enzo style arrangement i reckon. That'd be bonza.

I now know what a numpty be, & i think i be that one. Numpty Dumpty. If any one wants me, i shall be atop my wall. Roll Eyes

Miner's Key anyone? A complete re-recording of Escapade done with The Grimethorpe Colliery Band
It'd be "Bold As Brass"!

Hey, who pushed me? Eeker

Texas Rose, with all this talk of Escapade, you'll be pleased to know that I've gone and dug it out from where I hid it (yes, I do own one!! Wink) and have been giving it a good old listen.
I always did like Made My Day, Minor Key and Through The Years but surprisingly I used to hate Not For Nothing and it's not sounding too bad now!! Fraction's going to take a bit longer though....!! Wink

Eeker

But Not for Nothing is probably one of my all time favourite songs Kazzie. Big Grin

However you've admitted to actually owning Escapade so you are forgiven Wink

Glad you've dusted it off - I'm sure it is a little gem just waiting to be polished. Or perhaps in this case unpolished Razzer

Enzso it, Seany? I think not Baby Puppy Big Grin

Why? What's wrong with Fraction??

And another Escapade song I really like, which no one's mentioned here yet, is Growing Pains. I absolutely loved that when I first got the album. I haven't actually listened to it for a while, must dig it out again.

While it is one of Tim's most popular solo songs, I unfortunately hate it. Always have. Maybe it was a subconscious thing - you know, the first single that lead to his solo career and spilt from the Enz etc. I never wanted him to do a solo album while the Enz were still going..., maybe that always tarnished it for me. Roll Eyes But I've never liked it or even warmed to it over the years. People scratch their heads at me and have done so over the years when they know I'm this huge Tim Finn fan but don't like Fraction, Eeker but I just hate it!
But after my re-listening the past few days, I can say I now like half the album - that's progress, (eh Texas Rose?) Big Grin

Just kidding!!! Your comments are just too funny, Seany. And you defintely have the broadest musical taste ever. I mean, a symphonic or brass-band cover of Escapade ... Well, why not Wink

Sorry to hear you don't like Fraction Kazzie, I think it's the one song on Escapade that should never be touched. It's irresistable and one of my all time faves.

One small step at a time Kazzie Wink

I'd like to see all the clips which accompanied Escapade again. I've seen Fraction Too Much Friction lately, and had forgotten most of it (you could fast forward that bit Kazzie Big Grin) but I'd love to see the others again.

I just wish ownership and everything wasn't such a complicated issue with Tim's work.

I can't listen to Escapade without being instantly transported back to 1984 Eeker It does it every time. I'd get up very early in the morning and sit by the fire, with Escapade playing very quietly so as not to disturb anyone else, before I set off for work.

I loved it then, I love it now Smiler

I loved Fraction when it was out (but that may be a result of my age at the time), but it's not one of my favourites from Escapade. I believe Tim himself isn't especially proud of it these days and that he refuses to do it live.

Not For Nothing and Minor Key are just sublime. Couldn't agree more TR, it would be so good if there weren't all the issues with Tim's music so that we could see a DVD. There's a gaping hole in my Enz/Finn collection desperately awaiting it!!!

Twice!
It didn't start off particularly well and he'd forgotten a lot of the words, but he was happy to give the Dutch crowd their biggest Tim Finn hit, and we loved it!!!

You know it's amazing. Not For Nothing is a beautiful song which I can't believe I used to dislike so much! Roll Eyes

Just listening to it over the last couple of days has been a wonderful experience. It's funny how you sometimes hear songs differently after a passage of time - I must admit I haven't played this album for nearly 20 years! Razzer

I think Not for Nothing is my very favourite on Escapade. I'd have to sit down and listen to it to decide which places the other songs fall into after it Smiler What a chore that'd be Big Grin

Glad you decided to haul it out again after all this time. Smiler

Might I ask WHY Confused
I'm a Neil fanatic but I do like Fraction. I can't see how just because it is seen as being responsible for the end of Enz, how that could tanish such a great song? Confused The only SOLO song that Tim had that is better than FTMF is 'THROUGH THE YEARS'Big Grin

Oh dear! Roll Eyes
I was half kidding when I said that subconsciously I didn't like it because it started the end of the Enz! I just don't like it cause I don't. Razzer There's a few of Tim's songs I don't like but a hell of a lot that I do. Smiler

Anyway, Tim's still managed to have a great career despite the fact I don't like Fraction Wink and I've managed to stay a devoted fan for more than 28 years despite the fact I don't like Fraction so we're okay! Big Grin
