Hi All,

At the gym, pedalling nowhere, with Neil Finn singing on TV. Got me thinking about Neil compared to Tim, then Phil's disappointment with Tim. The time PJ mentioned Tim's lack of follow through after telling PJ they'd work together. For whatever reasons Tim decided it wasn't for him, which seemed to let PJ down.

The mutual respect between PJ and Neil Finn is in a different realm. It seems they have a good connection; as Neil spurred PJ back into the recording/ writing work which led to Novelty Act. Then there was a great harmonica jam they had at a concert backstage (forget now), a few years back, mentioned somewhere on this site.

This led me to wonder was PJ waiting for the wrong Finng all those years? Was there more sense to shift gears creatively and have the two greatest NZ music icons working together? That is Neil and Phil. (Forget about Tim and Phil, that era is gone.) The results we know from NF & PJ would be nothing short of brilliance/ genius.

For me there is something special about the work PJ does in collaborations, and I wonder does it make a difference when he feels wholly respected by and has respect for the other party?? It would be so exciting to see what that spark would enflame...
